Manage My Freight utilizes a large number of local and regional carriers Australia wide. The need to establish a cost effective national freight distribution network was prompted by the requirement to deliver large quantities of palletized bagged cold asphalt to customers, both rural and urban, in regions all around Australia.
Over the last 10 years, MMF has developed a cost effective freight network in a number of states with many small and medium size carriers in each state now part of the network. These carriers are amongst the most knowledgeable and cost efficient in servicing their locality. Likewise with interstate carriers where we tend to use those transport operators that specialize in a particular route (or routes). This has worked very well and especially so for freight that is both palletized and non urgent enabling the most economical use to be made of this carrier network.
The service continues to bring on board more products and clients – in particular companies with logistical issues in delivery and/or cost across a range of destinations that can and are benefiting most from this more active, independent approach that is not aligned to any particular transport operator. Of course, for those clients with regular volumes of freight to move across the country, a direct relationship with an interstate carrier is the norm with MMF providing the network for the local deliveries within each state.
